The Information

Adventure! Danger! Found Family! All these and more await you!

Irregular Hires is a roleplaying focused guild on Moon Guard. Despite our name, we are probably consistent!Fresh faced and ready to find the right people for the job! We are a thriving but humble guild always on the look out for like minded role players and characters to bring into the fold. We can't wait to roleplay and write with you!We strive to bring characters who may not have a home a place to meet new people, go on adventures, and further storylines! This enchanted business carrd may be boring and plain, but we are anything but!

Who are we?

Irregular Hires are, in a sense, a group of folks coming together to complete quests and jobs for the realm. The pay is good, the jobs are (mostly) legal and you hopefully won't have to worry about losing a limb or life! Unless you're into that.We are the irregular people. People who don't fit into any guild with some intricate backstory or based around a specific faction/location/group of people. Part time adventurers and Big Damn Heroes and part time Silly Lil Guys. After a falling out with the mysterious Mister De'levenis, these irregular folks have moved into various different jobs ranging from escorting caravans, body guarding some little known noble, acquisition of strange artifacts, and gathering all sorts of expensive reagents! Even the Irregulars themselves have jobs to hand out...or just need a hand themselves. There is always some downtime to be had and drinks to be shared. Regale your fellow irregulars with tales of your past heroics or failures in a friendly environment!Want to make some extra money on the side with all these random things found during your adventures? There are always buyers if you know where to look and where to set up shop!Got something bothering you? Have a problem too big to handle on your own? Your fellow Irregulars are here to help! Don't be shy!

Out of Character Information

The goal of Irregular Hires is for characters who may not have a home to have a place to meet new people, go on adventures, and further stories; either the semi-guild story of going on jobs, their own personal stories, or to help another character grow! Or even growing together! It's much more fun to write wonderful stories with other like minded folks.Irregular Hires is an 18+ guild but we aim to keep our guild stories and character actions during guild RP to be roughly around a PG-13 level in terms of violence and romance. We want to be a safe space for those seeking RP that won’t be triggering or make someone uncomfortable. We ask that characters be ‘good adjacent’ and friendly enough not to start fights or be antagonistic all the time to everyone.Officers will usually hold RP events weekly, (if not more!) ranging from RP combat using Conquest 20, traveling around Azeroth for gathering supplies, a night of casual drinks and dice, and now with their homebase of Runestone Crossing, assisting the locals who call it home.Members are free to make their own job postings and hold their own events when ever the mood strikes! Need help running something? Reach out to a member of the staff and let's work something out!Long term story lines are not off the table either! If you're looking for people to help your character with a large story you've been planning for some time, let's chat! The most unexpected people could be more than willing to help shape your story!Enjoy actually playing wow? Don't worry, you're free to ask around for help with dungeons or delves or anything else. This is an MMO after all!Interested? Of course you are! Feel free to contact Verdy (Discord: verdytai), Daford, or Calame with all your questions! No resume required, but we'd love to talk to you to see what skills you can bring to the table both in character and out of character.

Verdy Taylor
Organizer, Dirt-rector, and probably planning something

Verdy Taylor wouldn't call herself the boss of these Irregular Hires...despite what others may say. She's here to do the same thing as everyone else. Maybe she's been thrusted a leadership role, but that doesn't change who she is. With enough confidence to take on too many responsibilities and and enough magical power to take on a dangerous job or two, the mage is ready for any challenges that come.A naturally social woman, Verdy is usually the first point of contact for those interested in the Irregular Hires, offering assistance when required, and friendship when needed. Along with apples. Lots of apples.

Zaven Daford
Research, translations, and military decorum

Former translator for the Alliance and Battlemage for the Kirin Tor Zaven Daford has found a home with other displaced Mages of the Kirin Tor within the Irregulars, offering services as a Researcher, Translator, and combat trained Mage.If you have a question about something that needs to be found or some strange item you brought back, Zaven would be your best bet to make sure no curses follow you home!

Calame Greyshore:
Combat engagement and hazard assessments.

Calame Greyshore brings a wealth of experience in the arts of war, firearms, and killing that he will not share. What he will share is a mediocre stockpile of safety rules and regulations that he has a modest grasp of understanding. Happy to listen and think out loud, you are probably better served asking somebody else what a particular rule means.

Sophia Seed
Director of finances/fel'nances, liaison for Runestone Crossing

Who is Sophia Seed?
Mistress of Fel? Conservator of the Arcane? A wealthy spider-silk tycoon? Chaotic fashionista? Keeper of exotic, four-part-harmony singing skulls? Eccentric gremlin extraordinaire?
At her worst, she’s a mostly harmless oddball. At her best, she’s a loyal friend—helpful when needed, a champion of causes that bring her no benefit, and an unrelenting advocate for mischief. She’s a paradox of power and playfulness, brilliance wrapped in chaos.

Lethys T. SparkspinAdvancements in technology and magical studies

A Technomage from Gnomregan, Lethys brings in a wealth of knowledge of Arcane magic and (sometimes explosive) machinery that interfaces with it. One of the oldest advisors in the group, he's always more than willing to help anyone in need, and possibly keep them hostage while he rambles old stories, blueprints that make sense to no one, or arcane theorems from his time in Dalaran

Runestone Crossing

An Irregular Neighborhood

Runestone Crossing is a small settlement along the edges of Elwynn and Stormwind, an idyllic little town once besieged by a tyrant noble after the deaths of the previous caretakers of the land. When the noble was finally ousted after the daughter of Barron and Baroness Langdon came to save her town now overrun by bandits, cultists, and other ne'er-do-wellers, the town had lost most of her citizens. Angela Langdon had the new impossible task of rebuilding a town with a now tainted history. In come the Irregulars: Young Angela found this group of colorful and unique individuals at the Monday Markets, admiring their vibrant personalities and how they supported one another. A deal was struck with the group: Come to Runestone Crossing, oversee the lands, and bring life back to a once vibrant and unique town. With several unoccupied homes and plenty of land to grow into, the Irregulars took the deal, promising to take care of their new home, bring the town back into good standing, and help the remaining citizens whenever requested. There is an air of mystery within Runestone Crossing. Reports of ghosts in the graveyards, magical ley lines, rumors of mostly harmless pirates along the caves on the beaches, and other strange occurrences and even stranger locals, there is no lack of work for this motley group.

How Runestone Crossing WorksRunestone Crossing is a location for the Irregulars to set down roots, but more importantly, works as an RP hub for smaller, more contained story lines or one-offs with a more lighthearted air to them. Assisting locals, investigating strange phenomenon, or just helping to open a coffee shop for the Baroness, there is no shortage of events to be held here. The Irregulars have a Guild HQ, where meetings take place, training is held, and drinks are shared after an assignment or just when the mood strikes.Roleplay will still be held in the open world, adventures will be had in the random, far flung places of Azeroth. Runestone Crossing is not here to constrain RP, but to help it flourish as a central hub for the Irregulars when they aren't taking up too much space in Lion's Rest.Want to check it out? Message Verdy and she'll give you the grand tour!Guildies are not required to live in Runestone Crossing. They can always use their home as a proxy for another location, but we'd love to have you as a neighbor.
